Welshman Ncube, Biti firm up unity plans

The Welshman Ncube led MDC and the MDC Renewal are moving ahead with the convergence of the two parties with the latter saying there may not be any need for their congress next year in light of the development.

In October, the parties signed a (MoU) for them to engage in talks for possible unification.

In the MoU, the parties resolved to engage on the basis of the common history, bond and the origins of the original MDC, formed in 1999.

Insiders within both parties said negotiations teams have covered a lot of ground and are now seized with the distribution of top posts in the new entity soon to be created.
