Beleaguered church bishop of the Abundant Life Global Ministries Church in Harare, Danmore Magorimbo (45) was yesterday charged with another indecent assault and attempted rape case.
The accused was last month dragged before the same magistrate, accused of waylaying a female congregant for a cleansing session, before allegedly raping her once. He was later granted bail by a High Court judge for his freedom.
Presiding magistrate Milton Serima remanded Magorimbo in custody to November 26 and advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.
Public prosecutor Sharon Mashavira alleged that the complainant was a member of the church leadership council and used to collect money for rentals from Magorimbo.
The state alleged that at an undisclosed day the woman entered Magorimbo's office and he stood up, giving her an intimate hug.
Magorimbo allegedly kissed the woman on her cheek, but the complainant wadded him off before walking out of the office.
After the act, Magorimbo allegedly spent the next day sending text messages to the woman, apologising for his behaviour.
After some time Magorimbo called the woman to come to his office and collect money for rentals.
The woman later on came and proceeded to Magorimbo's office. Upon entering the accused person's office, he locked the doors from inside and allegedly concealed the keys.
The court further heard that Magorimbo pressed the woman against the door before lowering his trousers.Magorimbo only released the woman after she had slapped him on the face and threatened to scream.
The complainant later filed a police report leading to the arrest of Magorimbo.
