The Zanu-PF Women's League Manicaland leadership has passed a vote of no confidence in the leadership of the Provincial Chairlady, Joyline Chipo Porusingazi and her deputy, Loveness Mutezo over allegations of fuelling factionalism and undermining the authority of President Robert Mugabe.
23 out of 40 Zanu-PF provincial Women's League members in Manicaland appended their signatures in support of the decision to pass a vote of no confidence against the two at a meeting held in Mutare.
In announcing the resolution, the Zanu-PF Manicaland Provincial Secretary for Administration in the Women's League, Happiness Nyakuedzwa said the Porusingazi and Mutezo were fanning factionalism in the province while at the same time undermining the authority of the party's First Secretary and President, Mugabe.
"Porusingazi and Mutezo were responsible for poorly mobilising the party during the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe's 'meet the people tour.' The two also failed to condemn the bussing in of rowdy youths who openly tried to disrupt Dr Mugabe's rally on the 10th of October," she said.
The Women's League provincial executive also accused the ousted members of holding kangaroo meetings to discuss provincial Women's League issues outside the official structures while at the same time fuelling divisions in the party.
Nyakuedzwa has been appointed the interim chairperson of the Women's League in the area.
Already, the Mashonaland West Women's League has booted out its chairperson, Constance Shamu while the Masvingo Women's League chairperson, Shylet Uyoyo has also been shown the exit door.
