Zimbabwe's war veterans have called for the immediate sacking of Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Chairman, Retired Justice Simpson Mutambanengwe over his alleged utterances alleging that the country's freedom fighters are terrorising people in the rural areas.

The war veteran, mainly the Mugabe and Zanu-PF supporters, had no kind words for the retired high court judge, saying by attacking the freedom fighters, he has declared war on the people of Zimbabwe.

The veterans said the alleged utterances are synonymous with the regime change agenda proponents hence the need for Justice Mutambanengwe to resign or be fired from the country's electoral body as a matter of urgency.

Chivi North House of assembly Member and war veteran, Tranos Huruva said Retired Justice Mutambanengwe's track record proves that he is a man of questionable moral standing in society hence the need to make him account for his actions.

Zimbabwe government controlled media alleges that Justice Mutambanengwe, who was invited to the International Institute of Democracy Conference in Barcelona, Spain to give a briefing about Zimbabwe's preparedness to hold elections, stunned the delegation he travelled with when he abandoned a speech prepared for him by officials in his office opting to read a report prepared by a member of the British Embassy which gave a fictitious picture about the country's political climate.
