Grace Mugabe has hinted that the 'weevil' that Robert Mugabe was referring to during the burial of Nathan Shamuyarira was not his on-again, off-again information minister, Jonathan Moyo as per reports at that time.

Mugabe accused someone of fomenting divisions within the ruling Zanu-PF party.

Grace told cross border traders that Mugabe's statement on weevils was targeted at the real weevil VP Joice Mujuru despite her ill informed attempt to claim that it was aimed at Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Jonathan Moyo. She said with what is happening now it is clear who the real weevil is.

Mugabe's withering attacks were delivered during the funeral of former information minister and top Zanu-PF official Nathan Shamuyarira who was declared a national hero.

"Don't plant seeds of division," Mugabe told thousands of mourners gathered at Heroes Acre for Shamuyarira's burial at the Heroes Acre.

Mugabe continued: "We now have weevils in our midst. Zanu-PF has weevils within its ranks.

"Ko, zvabva nekupi? Eheee; Zanu-PF ine zvipfukutowo. Let's take care of these weevils. Saka tinazvoka. Manje togaranazvo muZanu-PF? Kwete!
