A woman on Monday told the Harare Civil Court that her abusive husband forces her to work in the fields and to herd cattle even when she is not feeling well.
Natty Bosha said her husband Norman Bosha was in the habit of assaulting her with a whip whenever she tried to take a rest, forcing her to continue working in the fields.
Bosha revealed this at the Harare Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against Norman, whom she accused of breaching her peace. "I am being forced to lead the cattle even when I am not feeling well and if I try to take a rest he physically assaults me using a whip", she said.
Bosha told magistrate Babra Masinire that Norman was also in the habit of verbally abusing her with vulgar words in the presence of their children.
She claimed Norman abuses her economically by refusing to share farming proceeds.
Masinire granted the protection order in default after Norman failed to attend court.
