NINE suspected armed robbers including two who were injured in a shoot with detectives appeared in court on Monday facing charges of stealing property worth $70 000 and were denied bail by the State.
Ephraim Malcom Matiza (22), Trust Misola (27), Craig Musasa (27), Taurai Fagai (24), Roy Mafunga (27), Robson Pangai (27), Mustapha Ngunda (36), Jonathan Muala (31) and Jonathan Muchemwa (31) appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Milton Serima facing armed robbery charges.
They were remanded in custody to December 8.
Serima advised them to apply for bail at the High Court.
Two of the suspected robbers, Fagai and Muala, told the court that their gun wounds were getting septic after failing to get medical attention. They denied fleeing from the police claiming they were shot while lying down.
"We were ordered to lie down and we were shot. We have not been treated despite the pain we are enduring. The wounds are getting septic," they said.
Serima said the pair should be given medical attention.
