Riled by alleged Plots to assassinate him by a faction led by Vice President Joice Mujuru,  President Robert has banned cellphones from the ongoing Zanu-PF congress in Harare.

The cell phone ban was started at the party politburo meeting yesterday where for the first time members were required to leave their phones outside the boardroom.

The politburo members were also subjected to physical body searches with state security agents also using metal detectors.

It was the same trend today at the central committee meeting at the Zanu-PF head quarters.

All central committee members were requested to leave their phones outside the meeting venue.

National housing minister Ignatius Chombo tried to resist the directive and one security agent told him, "you are the ones who set the rules so you have to follow them."

Mujuru and her alleged co conspirators namely Didymus Mutasa, Nicholas Goche and Webster Shamu were absent at the meeting.

Mugabe went to accuse Mujuru of employing witchcraft in a bid to remove him from power.
