Mugabe juju claim raises stink

President Robert Mugabe's sensational claims that Vice President Joice Mujuru consulted witch doctors in a desperate bid to oust him from office has exposed Zanu-PF's obsession with witchcraft and black magic at the expense of dealing with bread and butter issues, analysts said yesterday.

Mugabe claimed during the opening of the Zanu-PF central Committee meeting on Wednesday that Mujuru and her allies consulted witch doctors and faith healers to kill him.

But analysts said Mugabe's assertions were embarrassing and the beliefs of the Chinhoyi "diesel n'anga" was clear evidence of how the Zanu-PF officials believed in sorcery even to address the country's economic meltdown.
