Mugabe under fire over Mujuru comments

Women's rights activists have blasted last week's comments by President Robert Mugabe during the just ended Zanu-PF congress belittling embattled VP Joice Mujuru and downgrading women as second rate people.

Veteran politician Margaret Dongo said this was worrisome as it shows that Mugabe has double standards and does not believe in gender equality, but puts women in the forefront during political campaigns.

Dongo accused Mugabe of lacking confidence in women leadership.
