09 Dec 2014 at 07:48hrs | Views
A goods train belonging to the Beitbridge-Bulawayo Railways, the second in as many weeks has derailed near Dete along the railway line linking Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, throwing 12 wagons off the line.
Sources said that the latest derailment occurred on Sunday around 1600 hours at Nengasha near Dete.
The train was headed for Zambia although it was difficult to establish its load.
It disrupted train services between Bulawayo and Victoria Falls and was worse than the one that occurred on November 26 this year near the Thompson Junction along the same route.
It was not immediately clear what caused the accident of the Zambian bound train.
