Mugabe warns of rogue elements

President Mugabe yesterday warned Zanu-PF party cadres not to be hoodwinked by some elements with hidden agendas such as former Vice President Joice Mujuru.
Speaking after appointing his two deputies and Politburo members during the Central Committee meeting, President Mugabe urged party members to be wary of such people.
"Don't be easy victim to those who want power and who want to subvert the organisation. This is how some of our comrades fail. Vakateyiwa sekuteya kwataiita njiva, kubata njiva, very easily, you just throw grains here and you have your trap.
"I am referring to our present problem, Mai Mujuru. Vakawanda vakanga vanyeperwa vaitwa win over, vamwe vakazoona mave mushure, vamwe vakabva vaita (swallow) hook line and sinker.
"That's how they went. Vamwe, kana ini, varipo vamaiti aah, avo no no we don't want. We resisted tichiziva kuti, no, perhaps they didn't know any better.
"It was all terrible, terrible, terrible. I did not know she was like that, but there she is and just now we are in a situation where we don't know who the enemy is," he said.
Mujuru was fired from Government alongside eight other ministers in a Cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday.
The nine are accused of reneging on their Government mandate by expending their energy and time on alleged graft and factional politics where they sought to topple President Mugabe.
Ministers who were fired include Didymus Mutasa (Presidential Affairs), Webster Shamu (Information Communication Technologies, Postal and Courier Services) Francis Nhema (Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment), Olivia Muchena (Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development), Dzikamai Mavhaire (Energy and Power Development), Nicholas Goche (Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare), Simbaneuta Mudarikwa (Minister of State for Mashonaland East Province) and Munacho Mutezo (Deputy Minister of Energy and Power Development.)
The nine also lost their bid to become members of the Central Committee.
Over the past few weeks, serious allegations of high level of corruption and abuse of office have been raised against Mujuru.
She was accused of extorting shareholding from companies, demanding 10 percent bribes, illicit dealings in diamonds and gold, attempting to defeat the course of justice, extorting investors, undermining the authority of the President and seeking to dispose him through unconstitutional means among them the plot to assassinate him.
