Dabengwa demands electronic voters' roll
11 Dec 2014 at 06:35hrs | Views
Zapu president Dumiso Dabengwa has filed an application at the High Court seeking an order compelling Zimbabwe Electoral Commission and the minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs to avail an electronic voters' roll of the 210 constituencies in the country.
In his application, Dabengwa and his party cited Zec, chief elections officer and the then Justice minister now VP Emmerson Mnangagwa as the first and second, third and forth respondents respectively.
Dabengwa is also challenging the respondents to abide by the Constitution by fully implementing registration of voters, compiling the voters' roll and registers, enforcing keeping and maintaining voters' roll and ensuring that voters can be able to inspect the voters' roll.
