Khaya Moyo congratulates Mphoko, Mnangagwa

LOSING Vice President post hopeful Simon Khaya Moyo who is now the Zanu-PF spokesperson and Minister of Economic Planning has congratulated his nemesis –Phelekezela Mphoko - who was picked by President Mugabe ahead of him as second Vice President.
Khaya-Moyo - who lost out in the VP race due to a plethora of reasons including being perceived as a junior among ex-Zapu cadres and sympathizing with ousted ex-VP Joice Mujuru also congratulated first Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The two VPs filled vacancies left by fired former VP Joice Mujuru and the late VP John Landa Nkomo.
They were on Friday sworn in, together with seven ministers and one deputy minister, by President Mugabe.
"I wish to congratulate the two VPs for their appointments and wish them well in their tasks ahead. These appointments are the President's prerogative," said Khaya Moyo, who is the former Senior Minister of State in the Office of the President and Cabinet, in an interview last night with the State Press last night.
On his new portfolio, Khaya Moyo said he was prepared for the challenges ahead.
"I want to say this is a massive portfolio and its challenges are vast.
"When we talk about a country and its people, we're talking about the economy.
"I'll of course consult the President on matters concerning this subject," said Cde Khaya Moyo.
