Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko's relations with former Zanu PF chairman Simon Khaya Moyo remain strained over their battle to land the post.
Mphoko this week accused unnamed officials of trying to block his bid for the Zanu PF and country's vice presidency claiming that the former diplomat was not a party card carrying member.
However Mphoko managed to be elected to be elected into the central committee before the recently ended 6th annual congress.
He was eventually appointed Vice President by President Robert Mugabe last week beating Khaya Moyo, long touted as the front runner, to the post.
Khaya Moyo through his allies like deposed Bulawayo provincial chairperson Callistus Ndlovu led a campaign to scuttle Mphoko's ascendancy.
He is also accused of influencing Mugabe into withdrawing Mphoko as Ambassador to South Africa
