SOUTH Africa's ruling ANC former treasurer-general Mathews Phosa has denied that he has agreed to house beleaguered former Zanu-PF secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa at his farm.

Responding to a Herald story published yesterday titled Didymus Mutasa ropes in MDC-T, Phosa also denied ever meeting Mutasa and discussing the possibility of him going into exile in South Africa.

"I deny that I met with Mutasa and discussed the possibility of him going into exile in South Africa," Phosa said in a terse statement.

"I deny that Mutasa asked me to house him at my farm. I deny that I travelled to Angola with Mutasa in October 2014 to meet with MPLA."

Mutasa was purged from Zanu-PF along with other heavyweights who include former Vice-President Joice Mujuru, Webster Shamu, Rugare Gumbo, and eight provincial chairpersons.

According to the Herald report, Mutasa labelled the congress that fired him as illegal.

Mutasa is currently out of the country attending to his ailing wife. He is alleged to have petitioned South African President Jacob Zuma to intervene in his dispute with President Robert Mugabe.
