Chihuri threatens crackdown

Police Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri yesterday warned politicians and civil servants that his force will not have any sacred cows when dealing with corruption, signalling trouble for ousted Vice President Joice Mujuru and her cabal.
Officiating at a passport parade of 566 police recruits in Harare, Chihuri said as instructed by President Robert Mugabe during the official opening of the Zanu-PF congress about three weeks ago, the police would arrest corrupt public figures regardless of status.
Chihuri said his organisation would not be deterred in the discharge of their duties, warning the new cops not to be corrupted as they will be flushed out of the force once caught.
