A FIGHT between a mother and son over a changed door lock landed the two in court with the mother seeking a peace order against her 16 year old son.
Agnes Mangade appeared before Mutare civil court magistrate, Mrs Yeukai Chigodora, seeking a peace order against his 16 year old son, Tanaka Tauro.
Asked why she wanted a peace order, Mangade told the court that Tauro had been destroying her property and disturbing her peace at home.
"This son of mine has grown wild over the years and is now disrespectful to me. As we speak, he destroyed my property for the reason that I advised him against unbecoming behavior.
"He is even taking drugs and once he is high he disturbs my peace, so a peace order should be issued," said Mangade.
The 16 year old Tauro showed much disbelief when his mother said all that to the court and he denied all the allegations which had been laid before him.
"I do not agree with any of what my mother said to this court. I might not be a perfect son but I am not a wild child as she tries ton portray me.
"I never destroyed her property, not even once. What I just did was breaking the door when I got home in the night and discovered that she had changed the door lock and she was not responding to my knock," said Tauro
These absolute different sides of what was supposed to be the same story raised many questions.
It was later established that the two, Mangade and Tauro, lived in peace all this while but a fight arose when his mother changed the door lock.
Tauro got home one evening when the door lock had been changed and a fight ensued upon which the mother decided to seek for peace order exaggerating the real events that made her take this decision against the 16 year old son.
A five year peace order was granted.
