ZAPU leader Dr Dumiso Dabengwa has said he is working with the ousted Zanu-PF bigwigs that include former Vice President Cde Joice Mujuru to stop the dictatorship of 90 year old President Mugabe.
Addressing journalist at the Bulawayo Press Club today (Friday), Dr Dabengwa said he had held deliberations with the deposed Zanu-PF officials and they had agreed to join forces and fight back against Mugabes tyranny.
As Zapu we are in discussions with the ousted Zanu-PF cadres, the likes of former Vice President Cde Joice Mujuru, Rugare Gumbo, Ray Kaukonde and Didymus Mutasa. We are on course as we to try to put our heads together to prevent dictatorship because we foresee that there is the possibility of it in the party. The ousted cadres should not take their fate lying down, he said.
Dr Dabengwa said it was surprising that Zimbabwe had some of the best investigators in the region but they were yet to show anything for the massive allegations piled on Mujuru.
Mujuru is being accused of plotting to overthrow President Mugabe and corruption among other things.
We have such an excellent Central Intelligence Organisation and we were expecting to see Mujuru being investigated before Amai Grace Mugabes rallies. I know there are good at fabrication because I once faced treason charges. We are still waiting for vigorous investigation that they are conducting, said Dr Dabengwa.
Apart from Mujuru, Didymus Mutasa and Nicholas Goche others that lost their Central Committee posts or ministerial positions include Dzikamai Mavhaire, Munacho Mutezo, Francis Nhema, Simbaneuta Mudarikwa and Olivia Muchena.
Kaukonde, Mutasa and Goche were reportedly at the forefront of plotting to assassinate the President with Mutasa telling his girlfriend that President Mugabe would be shot if he did not relinquish his post to Mujuru.
Last week, Dr Dabengwa's application seeking an order compelling Zimbawe Election Commission (ZEC) to immediately take over duties of voter registration and maintaining voters roll and registers in line with the new constitution was dismissed by the constitutional court.
