A young and vibrant charity, the Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust (CNCVCT), on Thursday 18th December, 2014 kindly donated ten soccer balls to Luveve Junior Soccer Academy (LJA) in the city.
Speaking on behalf of his organisation, board chairperson, Mr. Dube thanked Give A Kick for having partnered with his organisation on this project. He also urged local companies and business people and even individuals too to come on board and help them provide help to more needy children and their schools. He stated that they intended using sport to help address poverty issues. Mr. Dube lamented the inability of children to access sport due to poverty, a phenomenon that his organisation is working extremely hard to correct. The Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust was set up and registered in Zimbabwe in December 2012. Their main thrust is to help create conducive teaching and learning environment in poor rural schools by helping provide proper classrooms, teachers cottages, classroom furniture, sports equipment, books, computers, boreholes and even sanitary pads for the girl child, as they want girls to enjoy their womanhood.
Last year the organisation donated soccer kits to Tjewondo and White Secondary Schools. They also donated two kits to Luveve Junior Soccer Academy. Today's donation came as welcome relief to Mr. Netha and his boys who have age groups from under 12 to under 18 but are struggling for funding to purchase equipment. Mr. Dube went on to mention that they have a number of exciting projects lined up for the coming year.
The CNCVCT is run entirely on a volunteer basis, as they aim at ensuring that every penny donated goes to the children and schools that they work with. Furthermore, they wish to use this organisation as a vehicle to instill the concept of giving back to the community, a concept that makes developed countries thrive. The organisation has just secured an office in the city, which has been kindly donated by a city physician. They are therefore appealing for help in purchasing a computer, printer, fax machine, filing cabinet and a desk and chairs.
