Chombo dismiss the recently formed Elected Councillors Association of Zimbabwe

Local Government Rural and Urban Development Minister, Dr Ignatius Chombo has dismissed the recently formed Elected Councillors Association of Zimbabwe as an illegitimate body meant to effect regime change as it is heavily sponsored by some western Non- Governmental Organisations.
ZBC alleges that the association was formed by disgruntled MDC-T councillors to wage war against government in a bid to cause chaos in local authorities.
Dr Chombo said the organisation is not recognised by the government.
Dr Chombo said the organisation sponsored to the tune of over US$200 000 by western allies is meant to destabilise the local government sector which is part of a broader regime change agenda.
