Heavy rains expected this Christmas, Met warns of floods

The Meteorological Services Department has issued a warning of flash floods and flooding in low lying areas.
The department has forecast a wet Christmas across the country with moderate to heavy rainfall expected.
According
to met services mid-season forecast, the five days from the 24th of
December will be characterised by moderate to heavy rainfall across the
country with thunder and hailstorms in some parts of the country.
The department also says the last half of the season from January to March should receive normal rains in all regions, but added that the rains may not necessarily fully support agricultural activity.
