Inmates celebrate Christmas with their families

Hundreds of people yesterday thronged prisons and correctional centres across the country to share Christmas goodies with their relatives and friends who are behind bars.
The festive period is a time of giving and sharing.
However, when merry making, most people forget about those behind bars.
Some prisoners at Harare Central Prison took the opportunity to remind every Zimbabweans about their existence as they took time to share their experiences.
Some of the people who visited Harare Central Prison say they were happy to share Christmas goodies with their loved ones who are in prison.
Inmates applauded the gesture saying the visits uphold their spirits and help in the rehabilitation process.
The visiting of inmates has proved to be another form of rehabilitation and has created a bond between inmates and their relatives.
