Civil servants who have not yet received their bonuses will start receiving their 13th cheque starting from Monday next week.

In a statement yesterday, Public Service Commission Acting Secretary Charles Matorera assured civil servants that although Treasury was experiencing cash flow challenges, they will  get their bonuses.

He said the bonuses would be staggered and civil servants would be advised on the matter accordingly.

"The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has advised the Public Service Commission that due to the acute cash flow constraints, the government will only be able to pay bonuses to all public servants who haven't yet received theirs from the week beginning  January 5, 2015," he said.

"The payment will be staggered and the commission will advise accordingly."

Last week, the government announced that it could not pay the bonuses at once as promised but would stagger them until the end of this month.

Public Service Minister Prisca Mupfumira said the government was making efforts to pay all civil servants their bonuses.

Only government workers in the uniformed services have so far received their bonuses, which were paid in November.

Minister Chinamasa told parliamentarians at a pre- budget consultative conference in Victoria Falls in November that civil servants would get their bonuses this year despite the government's dwindling revenue inflows.
