Woman attacks hubby's 'second wife'

THE statement "desperate times call for desperate measures" rang true for a Mberengwa woman who bashed her husband's suspected second wife, B-Metro reported.

Loveness Mawindo, popularly known as Mai Dee from Mberengwa, reportedly attacked the second wife, whose name could not be established, for greeting her saying that she wanted to show off.

"We were shocked by the incident as Loveness knew that there was a second wife. As a grown up person she was supposed to act like a civilised person," said a source.

"We just saw Loveness at around 3pm approaching the second wife as she was entering a bar owned by their man. She then asked to talk to the second wife privately."

It is said that people followed the two to a certain room since they were suspicious of what was going to happen.

"Loveness threatened the second wife before punching her on the cheek," said the witnesses.

The second wife reported the case to Mberengwa Police Station leading to the arrest of Mai Dee.

According to B-Metro, efforts to get a comment from the police were fruitless but a source who talked on condition of anonymity said she was asked to pay a fine and received counselling.
