Board members at some state enterprises under the ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development are holding too many meetings-in the process bleeding the struggling enterprises at their collected revenue through board fees, it has emerged.

Transport minister Obert Mpofu told the Air Zimbabwe and Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe boards that they must stop holding too many meetings outside those stipulated as this was causing bloated expenditure through board remunerations.

He said they must stick to what was approved and if the need arise; they should seek his approval for any variations.

The Air Zimbabwe was told among other targets, to deal with the leasing of appropriate aircraft for the current routes and also to open new ones.

Turning to CAAZ , Mpofu said this year the organisation should focus on the completion of the Victoria Falls airport by September 2015.
