Police should continuously train

Police officers must continue to receive refresher courses on professional investigative skills, human rights and constitutional law to order to improve their effectiveness in service provision to the public, a recent symposium on the Administration of Justice in the Sadc has said.

The conference hosted by Sadc Lawyers Association for key stakeholders in the justice sector also stressed on the need of an independent judiciary system which it said has a direct bearing on the proper administration of justice.

It said there was need to keep educating the police on new ways of investigating, as well as exposing them to constitutional and human rights laws for the benefit of the public.
