Beneficiaries of the land reform programme have been encouraged to fully utilise the land and shame the country's detractors who demonised the Zanu-PF led government for embarking on the land re-distribution exercise.
This was said by Vice President Joice Mujuru at a field day at Montana farm in Chakari where she noted that full utilisation of the land is critical in shaming the country's enemies.
She called on the beneficiaries of the land reform programme to re-direct efforts towards maximum productivity to enhance food security.
The Vice President said the full utilisation of the land and enhancing self-sufficiency among Zimbabweans can vindicate President Robert Mugabe who is vilified by the west for empowering the majority through land.
Zanu-PF National Political Commissar, Webster Shamu reminded hundreds of people gathered at the field day that the revolutionary party has people-oriented programmes such as the provision of land which should be guarded jealously.
Zanu-PF Secretary for Production, Dzikamai Mavhaire urged Zimbabweans to work hard and not sell out for food hand-outs provided by western-sponsored NGOs used by the MDC-T as a regime change tool.
Mr. Nelson Mabeza, who hosted the field day, emerged as the number one cotton grower in the district and walked away with various farming implements.
He paid tribute to the Zanu-PF government for empowering the majority through land.
The field day was attended by the Mashonaland West Zanu PF leadership, Zanu PF politburo and central committee members, seed producers and representatives of cotton merchants among other people.
