A Chipinge man ran amok setting a house on fire and killing three juveniles in the process in a bizarre incident that has left villagers in Musikavanhu shell shocked.
Three other people were seriously injured.
The alleged murderer Tawanda Ginandi (31) escaped and is still at large and police have launched a manhunt for him.
Manicaland police spokesperson Inspector Enock Chishiri confirmed the incident which occurred on Thursday evening in Mahachi village under Chief Musikavanhu, adding the accused person is still at large.
The three male juveniles who were burnt to death are Denford Ginandi (13), Blessing Ginandi (8) and Power Tsananguri (13).
The injured who are battling for life at Chipinge District Hospital are Tambudzai Ginandi (9) and Blessmore Ginandi (4).
Tambudzai Munorwei (54) has since been transferred to Harare after sustaining serious burns.
Inspector Chishiri said Ginandi, who has been accusing his aunt Tambudzai Munorwei of witchcraft, bought petrol which he poured on the front door of the victims' house.
He broke the windows and sprinkled petrol while the occupants were asleep before setting the house ablaze.
It is reported three male juveniles who were sleeping in one of the bedrooms were burnt to death, whilst Tambudzai Munorwei and two others female juveniles managed to escape from the inferno sustaining multiple burns in the process.
Inspector Chishiri urged family members to resolve their disputes amicably instead of resorting to violence.
