Grace Mugabe defended
12 Jan 2015 at 09:02hrs | Views
Zanu-PF legislator Shadreck Mashayamombe has leapt to the defence of First Lady Grace Mugabe who has been under fire for kicking out hundreds of villagers from Manzou Farm in Mazowe, apparently to pave way for animals.
Speaking to party youths in his Harare South constituency, Mashayamombe said the barrage of criticism targeting Grace is ill-founded and baseless.
He further claims that there is no eviction but that people are being relocated.
Last year in the run up to Zanu-PF congress, Grace referred to Mashayamombe as her son as she publicly forgave him for allegedly trying to block her political ascendancy.
Faithfully standing by his "mother" Mashayamombe has waded into the controversial farm evictions that have affected close to 1000 people saying Zanu-PF cadres, they are ready to defend the First Lady.
