Mnangagwa urged to dissolve Health Service Board

The health workers Apex Council has petitioned Acting President Emmerson Mnangagwa to immediately dissolve the Health Services Board for failing to represent the interests of workers in the sector.
The petition was crafted and presented to Mnangagwa's office on Friday following an urgent meeting. The board is being accused of gross inefficiency.
The Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association also issued a statement attacking the board for betraying health personnel through bureaucratic and teething challenges.
Zanu-PF has failed to fulfill the promises it made to health workers such as improving the working conditions and revamping the health sector.
Meanwhile, civil servants have resolved to go on strike to press government to, among other things, stop the unilateral shifting of pay dates and walk the talk on non-monetary benefits it has been promising them for months on end.
The Apex Council said although it would announce the date to commence strike at a later stage, a decision to go on industrial action had been made.
The council also demanded that for the strike to be averted, government must now establish a Civil Service Collective Bargaining Council, make clear its position on salaries and conditions of service and remit Union and Association fund timeously.
Another meeting will be convened next Wednesday to announce the date for the strike action is Government failed to meet its demands.
