Vice President Phelekezela Mpoko is in Maputo ahead of the inauguration of Mozambique's fourth president, Philip Nyusi tomorrow.

The Vice President is accompanied by Defence Minister, Sidney Sekeramayi.

Mpoko told journalists while in Maputo that Zimbabwe and Mozambique share a history which will forever bind the two nations.

Nyusi of the revolutionary FRELIMO party is Mozambique's first ever non-guerrilla head of state since the country attained independence in 1975.

Meanwhile, leader of the opposition RENAMO, Afonso Dlakama, who lost the elections, is reported to have instructed members of parliament from his party not to attend the inauguration ceremony.
