Civil servants strike looms
15 Jan 2015 at 07:50hrs | Views
Civil servants are meeting today to decide whether strike or not after they described yesterday's indaba with the newly appointed Public Service minister, Prisca Mupfumira, a mere talk show.
Richard Gundane, a chairperson of the Apex Council, a union representing civil servants said that government workers would consider the gesture shown by Mupfumira during the meeting.
The civil servants have been pushing for better salaries and conditions of service but with little joy as government is battling to raise money to pay current salaries, given the flagging economy.
Gundane said they will hear what the members of the council will have to say about the meeting with the minister.
