VICE President Joice Mujuru has urged Zimbabweans to be wary of Western-sponsored non-governmental organisations that use food handouts into hoodwinking people to give up their heritage.

VP Mujuru said this while addressing scores of Zanu-PF supporters at a field day held at Zanu-PF official Nelson Mabeza's farm in Chakari just outside Kadoma.

"After they realised that they had failed militarily, they formed these NGOs and through their alliance with the MDC-T they are wolves in sheep's clothing and want to use these food handouts to fool you.

"These NGOs are like the devil who tried to tempt Jesus to worship him by promising to give dominion over the world. If we lose the land and all the heritage we will be an embarrassment to ourselves, our nation, those that perished during the struggle and the future generations to come," she said.

VP Mujuru urged people to emulate Mabeza through maximum utilisation of land.

"President Mugabe's name has been ridiculed by some Western countries because of the stance he has taken to defend our right to land. He has even been criticised for all our failures to use the land productively.

"We should therefore use the land productively like we have seen here to show our President our gratitude for his stance in defending our right to land and all our resources," she said.

The Vice President said the liberation war was not easy and people sacrificed their lives to ensure that Zimbabweans had access to their land and resources.

She said land ownership would restore dignity to indigenous Zimbabweans following years of ill-treatment at the hands of the colonialists.

VP Mujuru castigated the MDC-T for not appreciating that the liberation war ensured that Zimbabweans had access to land and their resources.

"Why is the MDC-T criticised more than what happened to ZUM, NDU, Zupo and other parties? We are pained because after being liberated there are those who cannot even say thank you but invite our enemies."

VP Mujuru said it was MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai who was filmed receiving donations from white former commercial farmers as part of efforts to stall land reforms in Zimbabwe.

She however, said Zanu-PF was not against white people since it had some within its ranks but against colonial and oppressive ideologies followed by some white people.

"We do not hate the skin but the mindset and the system. We have some of them like Cde Peter Haritatos (Muzvezve representative in the House of Assembly) and the Sacco in Manicaland," she said.

VP Mujuru urged new farmers to produce for commercial purposes and venture into poultry and animal husbandry to improve their livelihoods.

Speaking at the same occasion Media, Information and Publicity Minister and Zanu-PF secretary for the commissariat Webster Shamu said the liberation war was fought to ensure that the black majority had access to land.

"Today is a big day when we are meeting over an important issue. We fought the war to get the land and we are now meeting here to see how we are moving ahead with the programme," he said.

Shamu said because of the land reform the Western countries had imposed illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe. "We will not surrender and we should be productive on our farms to alleviate the impact of the illegal sanctions," Shamu said.

He also urged Zanu-PF supporters to be ready for elections.

VP Mujuru donated a generator and irrigation equipment to Montana Primary School.
