HAVING been in the news last month for assaulting his wife over a fancy hairstyle, an unrepentant Chikanga tout was at it again, this time verbally abusing another one of the fairer sex at Chikanga rank last week.
Raymond Gowero of Natview Park, Chikanga, appeared in court in less than a month facing public nuisance charges.
He appeared before Mutare magistrate Mrs Sekai Chiundura for using vulgar words to insult a female passenger in the city centre.
He was fined $20 or risk going to prison for 10 days
Mr Cuthbert Bhosha prosecuted.
The court heard that Gowero verbally abused Grace Mtisi using obscene language after she had refused to board a certain commuter omnibus at Chikanga rank.
"Mtisi had refused to board the omnibus on which Gowero was touting and had proceeded to go and board the kombis which were on a queue.
"Gowero was not amused by Mtisi's action and proceeded to call names using obscene language," said Mr Bhosha.
A police report was made leading to Gowero's arrest.
In defence, Gowero told the court that he was drunk when the whole drama occurred.
Mrs Chiundura, however, had a few words of warning for him.
"This behaviour is consistent with touts. You shout whatever you want and blame alcohol for your actions. Next time when you are drunk go home and do not be a nuisance to other people," said Mrs Chiundura.
