National Housing Development Trust founding member and Zanu-PF apologist Energy Mutodi accused of duping civil servants of more than $500 000 in a botched housing scheme, has filed an application for discharge at the close of the state case.
Regional magistrate Hosea Mujaya is expected to make a ruling on the matter on January 28.
On the other hand the leader of Johanne Masowe Echishanu Madzibaba Ishmael Mufani arrested early this year will continue to languish in prison after the state further remanded him in custody to February 3.
Mufani is being charged with public violence after members of his sect attacked journalists, police officers and ACCZ officials on May 30 last year.
