Zimbabwean students stranded after failing to get SA permits

Hundreds of Zimbabwean students attending South African Universities have failed to secure relevant documentation to enable them to register with their universities amid reports that the South African Embassy in Harare had run out of the special paper used for student and work permits.

Students yesterday said that they were worried that the delays could cost them academically as the deadline for registration at most South African universities was today marking the beginning of the first semester for this year.
