Movement for Democratic Change president Morgan Tsvangirai today visited Epworth and saw for himself the poverty and the problems affecting the community.

The MDC-T leader first addressed a crowd at Pentagon Stoop area where residents bemoaned the lack of proper services in their area. They mentioned the lack of proper water and sanitation facilities, lack of proper roads and the ineffectiveness of the Zanu-PF run local board to address the challenges they face.

Tsvangirai expressed concern with the way the people live in this area saying it was unfortunate that the whole nation has collapsed under the failed Zanu-PF regime. He added that industry is dead and the entire nation has been reduced to a vendor economy.

He however, was concerned with the level of deterioration of the area after a successful tour of duty by the previous MDC-T administration in the Epworth Local Board that worked to improve the people's lives.

Tsvangirai managed to see for himself the achievements of the MDC-T run administration which include market stalls at Solani business center the Overspill Clinic.

Epworth residents mobbed the MDC-T leader during his walk-about in Epworth. He was however snubbed by the nurse in charge at Overspill who refused to respond to questions, saying she had no authority to speak to members of the public without clearance.

Tsvangirai said there was need for a national response to the continued deterioration of the economy.
