Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has called on youths to desist from pinning their hopes on South Africa as the neighbouring country has no jobs to offer to uneducated foreign nationals.
Vice President Mphoko said young people should be careful not to throw their lives in risky situations by travelling to the neighbouring country without the necessary travel documents.
He was speaking soon after a handover of text books worth over $4000 to Mahlathova High School in Umguza district where he urged them to concentrate on their education from which numerous opportunities are opened to further their careers.
He said it costs between R1000 and R1500 to be transported to South Africa without necessary travel documents and those who fail to pay the fare upon arrival are forced into prostitution or sold to homosexuals to raise the money.
The Vice President has already made donations of books to five schools in Matabeleland North province as his contribution to the development of education in the country.
The programme will be rolled out in Bulawayo Metropolitan as well as Matabeleland South provinces.
