'Manzou villagers still to be shown alternative land'

Five of the 200 Manzou Farm villagers who were offered alternative land by government had by Monday still not seen the proposed resettlement site as scheduled, their attorney said.

Gift Mtisi, the villagers' lawyer, said: "My clients have not yet seen the alternative land, They went to Bindura chief land officer on Monday and were told that they have to book in order to see the land. So they booked Thursday to visit the proposed farm.

"But my clients are eager to see the alternative farms. We hope everything goes well and on Thursday we will manage to see the land."

He said the remaining villagers will not be chucked out until they are given offer letters for alternative farms.
