Hurungwe West legislator Temba Mliswa, who is facing charges of theft of 8 firearms, has been granted bail.
The bail ruling was announced by Chinhoyi Provincial Magistrate Ignatius Mugova who ruled that there is no compelling reasons to justify continued pre-trial detention.
Magistrate Mugova noted that since both the state and the investigating officer had conceded that Mliswa is not a flight risk, granting him bail is justifiable.
Mliswa deposited a US$200 bail fee and was ordered to reside at his Borrowdale home and never to visit his Spring Farm in Karoi till the conclusion of his case.
He has also been ordered to surrender his travel documents and not to interfere with witnesses.
