Joram Gumbo, Zanu-PF chief whip, downplayed Mutasa's Parliament bunking after the former secretary for administration has been absent from parliament sessions and is yet to make an appearance since being fired from his Cabinet post and senior position in the ruling party.
Mutasa however said he was still a Member of Parliament and he will be attending parliament soon.
Opposition legislators have been making fun of the expelled Zanu-PF Cabinet ministers, who have been relegated to back-benchers.
Meanwhile, Zanu-PF has elected Gutu East representative Berta Chikwama, as the new deputy Chief Whip in Parliament to replace Mandi Chimene who was appointed Minister of State for Manicaland Province last December.
Chikwama, who is also the chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare was elected at a caucus of the party's legislators on Wednesday.
Zanu-PF Chief Whip Jorum Gumbo confirmed the development yesterday.
