Mphoko sucked into $20 million saga

Choppies Downton a Company owned by the Mphoko Family and managed by Siqokoqela Mphoko who is the son to the Vice President Phelekezela 'Report' Mphoko has been dragged to a twenty million dollar Defamation lawsuit by Bulawayo prominent lawyer Sindiso mazibisa.
In court papers in possession of this publication filed in the High Court of Zimbabwe Bulawayo on 6 February 2014, Mr Sindiso Mazibisa who is the Senior partner of the leading Lawfirm Cheda and Partners cited Chronicle Newspaper Editor Mduduzi Mathuthu as 1st Defendant , Thandeka Moyo Chronicle Reporter as 2nd Defendant, Zimpapers as 3rd Defendant and Choppies Downtown as 4th Respondent.
The defamed Lawyer is seeking a sum of $ US 100 being for nominal defamation damages for distributing the defamatory article on 5th February 2015 from Choppies Downtown where he bought a copy of the Newspaper.
Mazibisa is claiming an order for the payment by 1st, 2nd and 3rd Defendants jointly and severally one paying the others to be absolved of the sum of $ 20 000 000 (twenty million United States Dollars) being for defamation damages arising out of defamatory publication in the Chronicle Newspaper.
The State Owned Daily paper on the front pages of the Chronicle Newspaper issues of 19th November 2013, 21st January 2015, 2nd February 2015 and 5th February 2015 published stories under headlines: " Prominent Lawyer in $350 K Fraud probe", "Lawyers Steal from Trust Funds", " Cheda Law Firm shut down over $350 K fraud" and "Mazibisa Surrenders"
