A HARARE polygamist reportedly dragged his second wife to court accusing her of insulting and assaulting him in the company of her brothers.
According H-Metro, Elphas Banga told the court that he wants a protection order against his second wife who he accused of using juju.
"I want her to vacate the house that I am renting for her in Mufakose. I recently caught her in possession of a cocktail of traditional herbs I believe to be Juju.
"I cannot trust her anymore. I now live in fear of my second wife and I want her gone.
"Her relatives do not respect me, they insult me with obscenities.
"I will continue fending for our minor child even if she leaves the house that I am renting for her. What I want is for her to vacate the Mufakose room and stay with her parents since we have failed to reach common ground.
He added: "Mukadzi haarambike uyu ndakatombomupa gupuro redollar akariramba." (This woman is refusing to be divorced, I once gave her $1 as a token of divorce and she refused it)
In response, Sabina Nigo refuted the claims.
"I cannot go back to my parents' place of residence since I am still married to him. I used force against him once when I visited him at his Hatcliffe home after having a domestic dispute.
"He should continue paying rentals for me and our minor child since we are still married.
"He has no right to evict me from a house that does not belong to him," she said.
The presiding magistrate advised Banga that only a land-lord can apply for an eviction order against a tenant.
She ordered Nigo to stay in peace with her husband. Nigo was also advised to refrain from insulting or assaulting Banga.
