Man assaults elderly father

AN ELDERLY city man is at odds with his son who he accuses of assaulting and insulting him along with his wife.

Godfrey Maiya told the court that his son Regis Muzava is a violent man.

"This young man is my son but he physically assaults me along with my wife. I am applying for a protection order against him so that he can be evicted from our place of residence until he reforms and become a normal human being.

"Currently, he stays in a caravan at his workplace but he comes to ray place of residence insulting and assaulting me and his mother. He disturbs my peace. I want him to be sent away from our home for many years," he said.

Muzava refuted the claims that he is a violent man.

"As said by the applicant Your Worship I reside in a caravan at my workplace.The bone of contention here is that I have been having altercations with my wife and my parents instead of being mediators they always support my wife even when she is wrong.

"I am not opposed to his application but I am not violent like he says I do not take alcohol Your Worship how can I be so violent?" he said

Hie presiding magistrate ordered Muzava to desist from physically or psychologically abusing his parents.

He also advised the duo to stay in peace.
