Mugabe grants a state-assisted funeral for Mukonoweshuro

President Robert Mugabe has sent a message of condolence to the Mukonoweshuros following the death of Professor Eliphas Mukonoweshuro.

In his message, President Mugabe said he learnt with sadness the death of Professor Mukonoweshuro.

President Mugabe said Professor Mukonoweshuro has been unwell for some time, with his condition deteriorating in the last few weeks.

He also said he has granted a state-assisted funeral a modest gesture to a man who served his country well both as an academic and as a minister.

Mugabe also said the state will assume full responsibility for the repatriation of Professor Mukonoweshuro's body.

In a related development, President Mugabe has sent a message of condolence to the Zanu-PF Politburo member, Abednico Ncube following the death of his wife Tracy Ncube.

In his message, Mugabe said the sad departure of Ncube's wife creates a huge gap in the life of not only Ncube himself but also the lives of the children who now have to face the future without their loving mother.

On behalf of the party, Zanu-PF, his wife, Mugabe consoled the Ncube family on the sad loss adding that they all stand with them on this hour of grief and bereavement.
