The Minister of State for Manicaland Mandi Chimene has called upon civil servants in the province to discharge their duties professionally and to desist from corruption tendencies.
Chimene has concluded her marathon provincial tour meeting several government departments and other key stakeholders in the eight political districts of the province.
The last leg of her familiarisation tour was Mutare District, where she underscored the need for civil servants to work hard and be the conduit for the implementation of the new economic blue print, the ZIM ASSET.
She called upon civil servants to desist from all forms of corruption and to promote government vision of advancing the interests of the general populace.
Chimene implored all the urban and rural local authorities to transform the state of affairs of the province, noting that the present scenario is not pleasing.
Speaking at the same occasion, Mutare Acting District Administrator Simon Sigauke said the Marange-Zimunya Community Share Ownership Scheme was at the heart of the people of Manicaland and the failure by diamond mining companies to release pledged funds was a cause for concern.
It has been established that a number of developmental projects in all the districts have not been completed due to lack of financial resources.
