Change inputs scheme name to cater for all

Opposition MDC members of Parliament have demanded that President Robert Mugabe's Agricultural Inputs Scheme to curtail its rampant abuse by overzealous politicians.

The MPs who were speaking at a breakfast meeting organised for lawmakers by rights group, ZimRights last week in the capital said the inputs which are meant for all citizens were being distributed on a partisan basis.

Trevor Saruwaka, the MDC Mutasa Central MP said Zanu-PF officials in the constituencies were of the belief that the inputs were sourced using funds from Mugabe's pocket.

Saruwaka blamed the ruling party official's belief on the name given to the scheme and suggested the name change to enlighten members of the public that it was in fact taxpayers money that was used to purchase the inputs.
