Victoria Falls hotels fully booked ahead of Mugabe's birthday bash

All hotels and lodges in Victoria Falls are now fully booked ahead of the 21st February Movement celebrations that take place in the resort town on the 28th of February.
This was confirmed by the Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ).
Brisk business is being recorded in Victoria Falls by the hospitality sector ahead of the 21st February Movement celebrations that take place on the 28th of February in the resort town.
HAZ chairperson for Victoria Falls Trythings Mutyandasvika says all hotels and lodges are fully booked, adding tourism and business organisations representing various other sectors will benefit immensely from the business brought into the town by the event.
"As Victoria Falls we really are grateful to the organisers to be able to host this kind of a function where we coming together as a country celebrating the birthday of a leader, Baba R.G Mugabe.
"I can safely say the bulk of the hotels are fully booked. Lodges are also fully booked. I have been speaking to a number of people and indications are that the town will be full," said Mutyandasvika.
Delegates are expected to start arriving during the week for various activities which include a clean up campaign slated for Wednesday.
The 2015 edition of the 21st February Movement will be celebrating President Robert Mugabe's 91st birthday.
Meanwhile, Zanu-PF has conducted a clean up campaign in the resort town of Victoria Falls as part of preparations for the 21st February Movement celebrations slated for Saturday.
The clean up campaign was organised in conjunction with the Environmental Management Agency (EMA) and stakeholders in the tourism sector to ensure the town is clean during the 21st February Movement celebrations.
Zanu-PF Deputy Secretary for Environment and Tourism, Auxillia Mnangagwa told participants at the clean up campaign that every business operation must be guided by principles of sustainability which take into consideration socio-economic and environmental factors.
Zanu-PF Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs Kudzai Chipanga and host chairman of the celebrations Tamuka Nyoni says the youths will stand by the President at all cost and follow in his footsteps.
A delegation representing Mnangagwa later handed over toiletries for patients at Victoria Falls Hospital.
This year's 21st February Movement celebrations will be held under the theme: 'Celebrating the Birth of Gushungo, the Icon of Zimbabwe`s Revolution and Youth Empowerment.'
