Policeman hit, dragged to death

Police are investigating the death of a 26-year police officer who was hit and dragged for 15 metres by a Honda Stream vehicle registration number ADJ 3670 that veered off the road in Chitungiwza this morning.

Constable Terrence Nyamadzi, who was based at the High Court police post, was hit and dragged for 15 metres by a vehicle that veered off the road.

Police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed that a couple in the car was embroiled in an argument and the female occupant Esther Mawira (34) is alleged to have clutched on the steering wheel resulting in the vehicle veering off the road.

The owner of the vehicle has since been arrested while the body of the deceased was taken to Chitungwiza mortuary for post mortem.
